Job DescriptionSoftware Engineer needed for busy custom e-learning solutions company. Our product is a web-based application that runs in a Windows environment. You will design and develop new products as well as new features to the current products. The process includes writing requirements, creating designs, writing code and testing of systems and applications. You will also architect, design and implement major features and components from requirements; write functional and technical specifications; design, develop, debug, document, and test applications; investigate new technologies; work closely with the Chief Technical Officer to analyze new software features; participate in code reviews and assist other engineers with debugging; provide ongoing support for reported QA/bugs. Position reports directly to the Manager of Software Engineering.
Responsibilities Include:- Translate business requirements into high quality technical designs and working software.
- Design, unit test and code moderate to complex object oriented applications.
- Continually enhance the technical design, architecture and frameworks of the product suite.
- Perform and document architecture and technical design for software developed.
- Ensure technical components are usable, reliable, scalable, extensible, interoperable, and reusable.
- Work and communicate in a team environment where the teams are cross-functional comprising of developers, technical customer accounts managers, and software documentation.
- Experience with Visual Basic 6 or VB.NET, SQL, HTML
- Experience developing commercial Windows applications using VB or VB.NET.
- Must have full lifecycle experience building complex systems and enterprise-class applications from inception.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, application usability and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in User Interface development a plus.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- 60K to 80K
